A co-founder of the queer collective Hyjneshat, Rebiswan plays a crucial role in shaping the cultural landscape by organizing inclusive events that celebrate diversity and foster community engagement. Their work with Hyjneshat has been instrumental in creating safe and empowering spaces for the LGBTQ+ community in Kosovo, blending activism with cultural expression and using their platform to challenge norms and promote inclusivity within the local music scene and beyond. Currently pursuing a degree in Conceptual Art at the University of Prishtina, Rebiswan’s academic work is informed by their broader interests in social justice, identity politics, and the decolonization of artistic narratives. Their curations frequently explore the intersections of queerness, diaspora, and cultural memory, using a multidisciplinary approach that spans music, performance, and visual arts. In addition to their DJ career, Rebiswan has collaborated with various artists, collectives, and cultural institutions across the Balkans. Their artistic practice is both deeply personal and politically engaged, often addressing issues such as gender politics, spatial activism and resistance to cultural erasure.
