Producer, pop, and DJ duo Rebecca & Fiona have been a prominent part of the Swedish and international music scene since 2007. Since their breakthrough, they have released three albums, won double awards at the Swedish Grammys, and musically blended influences from pop, electro, and the dance world—always on their own terms without compromising the final result. Their desire for both artistic and creative freedom has led them to run their own record label, Big Romantic Music, since 2018, where they oversee their music while producing for established and upcoming talents. Their love for dance music has also seen them host their own show on P3 for four years, playing the music they love. In the spring of 2024, they have released several previews from their highly anticipated fourth album—MEGA DANCE, which will be released after the summer. The album “MEGA DANCE” is their tribute to a maxed-out dance floor at a club somewhere in Ibiza in 2002. On the album, they have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into the dance music that, after an eclectic and sprawling 90s, established itself as a genre of its own, always guaranteeing a perfect party every night. This is their love letter to the early 2000s—the music, the fuck-you attitude, and random visitors in a Von Dutch cap with some slimy shot. Here’s what they say about it: “We finally took some time to be undisturbed in the studio and just work. We discovered there was a discrepancy between the music we created and what we want to play when a DJ set reaches its ultimate peak. We challenged ourselves to approach our next album without shame and ‘guilty pleasure’ thinking. So now, to everyone’s great joy, a more straightforward dance album from us is coming—filled with music we want to play in our DJ sets.”
