Rave Child’s sound explores the never-ending energy of childhood's nostalgia, hysteria and sometimes even fragility, on a search for the infinity that can never be reached. As the artist chooses to not show his face, the core of his identity is solely revealed through his musical output. A self-taught artist, Rave Child finds inspiration near the coastline of northern Portugal, a region rich with natural beauty and dreamlike colors that permeate his work. If Rave Child would have to name some major musical influences though, they would be Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Shed and Traumprinz aliases. Musically, all we know is that he is a big fan of combining the rawness of the analog sound with the vast possibilities of the digital world, in order to accomplish his signature sound. His debut EP, "The Birth," released on his label Kokölò, made a significant impact, receiving accolades and support from electronic music luminaries like Laurent Garnier, Sasha, .Vril, Patrice Baumel, and Nathan Micay. Recognized as one of the best releases of April 2022 by the American electronic music website Delayed, the EP marked a bold entry into the scene. Rave Child's follow-up, "The Calling" EP, was pressed on vinyl and included a remix by one of his key influences, the enigmatic German artist .VRIL, highlighting his more dance floor-focused approach and solidifying his reputation as a must-listen artist. In addition to his EPs, Rave Child released a podcast of original material, exclusively featuring his own productions, on the Brooklyn-based magazine Delayed, on earlier 2024. This unique podcast further showcased his creative depth and commitment to originality. Later in the year, he released "Planeta Próprio," an EP that delves into his introspective side, offering listeners a more profound and reflective auditory journey. This EP received a rework by the up-and-coming turkish techno artist Pink Concrete. Despite his growing acclaim, Rave Child remains a reclusive figure, preferring the solitude of his home studio over frequent live performances. His selective appearances and immersive soundscapes continue to captivate and intrigue, solidifying his status as a unique and influential voice in electronic music.
