With Detroit roots, Techno DJ and impending producer Raquel B. started out as singer and keyboard player with an old-school funk and jazz background. She started her journey as a DJ in Shanghai, China. She quickly immersed herself in the underground rave scene upon moving there in 2015, bringing the Detroit Techno sound and influence. Her sound is a reflection of the dark music she discovered in warehouses and underground venues. Her engaging and vivacious sets became highly requested at local Shanghai venues, and she became a part of one of the biggest underground festivals in China, Yin Yang Electronic Music Festival on the Great Wall of China in 2018 and e-MIDI electronic music festival in Suzhou, China. Raquel B. has done mixes for Lobster Theremin, RINSE London, Corpus Records Berlin, Canadian based Reckoning Radio and Youhao Radio Shanghai to name a few. She’s also participated in a live stream with Detroit Promo TV, also known as “The BASSMENT DETROIT” for the Underground & Black ‘The Detroit Edition’ takeover. Raquel B.’s also been a part of the Community Outreach Festival presented by Filthy Americans in Detroit, where she shared the stage with Detroit Legends.
