I grew up playing in a rock-n-roll band in the grassy suburbs of Baltimore and then moved out west for school. I was in my dorm 3.000 miles away from my bandmates so I started to produce music by myself on my laptop. My freshman year, I was introduced to Los Angeles and started attending the frequent HARD rave. Through these experiences, Ed Banger Records became my new religion and with acts like Justice and Breakbot, I found the evolution from rock-n-roll to disco to be quite seamless. Meanwhile, I began to DJ for my college radio station and started a blog called Disco Naps with my buds. Through our love for music, art, and hospitality, we started throwing rooftop events and booking acts from Toro y moi to Eli Escobar with support from Rambo. Since then, Disco Naps has grown at a grassroots and is now a mix serious and home for me to release my own music. I've had the honor to DJ internationally and play bucket list events like Coachella, CRSSD, and HARD. My Debut EP was released in 2018 on Disco Naps. The name Rambo comes from my real name is John Rambo V. Don't worry....I come in peace. My intention is to pepper you up with a piping hot melody and a tall glass of percussion. Mix that up with a funky bass line and a 4/4 beat and voila...Rambo. Not sure if my sound fits in anywhere, but I hope it makes you feel something.
