R449's work unfolds at the threshold where organic matter and artificial structures become indistinguishable. Moving between China and Canada, and across the mediums of electronic music, graphic design and 3D creation, he approaches artistic practice as the cultivation of living worlds rather than isolated disciplines. Inspired by surrealism, post-human mythology and the strange beauty of biological transformation, his works inhabit spaces where flesh intertwines with metallic skeletons where the sacred assumes alien anatomies. This fascination with mutation is mirrored in sound. Through hypnotic rhythms, tribal movement and psychedelic textures, R449 gradually nurtures tension before allowing it to blossom into waves of acidic bass and sub-heavy force. His sets behave like evolving organisms——growing, shedding, collapsing and regenerating——balancing ritualistic introspection with moments of ecstatic release. He views audio and visual language as different manifestations of the same system. Across dancefloors, digital sculptures and graphic forms, his practice seeks to construct immersive experiences that exist somewhere between nature and machinery, memory and hallucination. Neither entirely human nor entirely synthetic, the worlds of R449 remain in a constant state of becoming.
