R Ξ Π, an Industrial Techno DJ and producer from Beijing and a member of SILK, delves deeply into the connection between Techno music and Beijing's industrial era, showcasing the "industrial landscape" of the early socialist construction. His work seeks to uncover the unique characteristics of Beijing, not only revisiting the city's early industrial age but also experimenting with the fusion of Techno, socialist aesthetics, brutalism, and East Asian spirit. Through his music, R Ξ Π strives to establish new connections, resonating with the fading industrial beauty of Beijing and constructing a virtual community space to deconstruct and explore what an industrial society should look like. In early 2024, R Ξ Π released his debut album "礼堂Ideological Factory" under the Metasonar label. He views the auditorium both as a grand "thought factory" and a spiritual playground for communal activities, using its architecture to reflect on the role of individuals within the collective and the industrialization process. The album narrates not just the industrial history of Beijing but also addresses how to maintain respect and balance for history and culture amid rapid modernization.
