DJ QWEST has been a follower of music his entire life. Having grown up in a musical family, QWEST was a typical band nerd and fell in love with writing music. QWEST earned his bachelor degree in music education and began to teach middle and high school band in Texas for several years. QWEST met his to-be husband, Casey, in Austin, TX. After marrying Casey, QWEST decided to leave the classroom to have more time available for his new spouse. QWEST now helps to supervise tine arts for all public schools as a coordinator for the state education agency. When QWEST left the band directing profession, he wanted to maintain a connection with music. That is when becoming a DJ came into the picture.... During his short time as a DJ, QWEST has performed for several notable venues in the United States, such as Oz in New Orleans, Station 4 in Dallas, Roma in Austin. He has also played for many large events like South by Southwest (SXSW) and Haus of Slut in Austin, Splash in Austin, Purple Party in Dallas, private events in Los Angeles, and Memorial Day weekend in Pensacola. QWEST has also been featured as a guest artist on Houswerx radio. QWEST maintains an active SoundCloud, averaging thousands of listens per month. QWEST is excited to grow his audience and explore future opportunities. QWEST's hobbies include hiking and paddle-boarding in Austin, lifting weights, cooking, and spending time with friends. QWEST loves hosting friends for festival weekends, such as ACL and Seismic in Austin. He and his husband have two cats named Tux and Bella.
