Quirky Powerz is the alias of Australian-born, Germany-based DJ and producer Alex Crowe. Blending elements of minimal, rolling tech-house, and deep, percussive microhouse, her sets swing between hypnotic groove and stripped-down power—perfect for smoky afters or sweatier peak-time floors. Quirky loves to build layered, tactile journeys. Expect off-kilter loops, tight transitions, and plenty of space to move. Her late-night energy is immersive and sometimes strange, keeping dancers engaged, bouncing, and just a little surprised. Before the decks, she released music as Alex Crowe, including an experimental electronic EP (I Love Music, I Love to Dance and I Love You, 2021), a raw indie-rock album (Rough As Guts, 2017), and a synthpop/darkwave LP (Sun Damage, 2013) with the band Synthesize Her. That sonic curiosity still informs her DJ sets—bridging rhythm and texture in unexpected ways. Now based in Stuttgart, Quirky Powerz is carving out her place in the European underground with a sound that’s unpretentious, tightly crafted, and ever evolving.
