After discovering electronic music in his teens, thanks to the thriving musical scene of the late 2010s in his native Bogotá, he began buying records and eventually learned how to mix. His interest in many types of music resulted in an enormously varied collection, that has never been articulated by genre, but rather by the emotional connection that each particular record presents to him. This variety is what Rincón brings to the dance floor, as he takes the dancers into journeys filled with odd curveballs, radical tempo changes, and enormous contrasts, but always stitched together in an oddly coherent, and technically sound kind of way. In 2024, he founded Papel Maché, a mix series that publishes and promotes the work of highly focused and talented artists, both established and emerging, and that have contributed to maintain Colombia’s electronic music scene as one of the very highest quality. One to two mixes are published each month, with the cover art of each mix being made by local artist Mange. Papel Maché’s new concept party Noches de Papel will begin in early 2025, with the collaboration of artists that have already recorded and published a mix with the series, or that are just about to.
