A fixture in Italy’s electronic music and nightlife scene, Protopapa was born in Salento, came of age in Bologna, then moved to Milan, where he still resides. A sonic sponge who absorbs tracks from all genres and puts them together to create the perfect atmosphere, he trained as a B2B DJ with friends then evolved to warming up for today’s icons like Tiga, Nicolas Jaar, Tom Trago, Bottin, Planningtorock, Miss Kittin, Siriusmo, Nathan Fake, and many more. Protopapa has worked for fashion brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Frankie Morello, Marco De Vincenzo, YSL, Tommy Hilfiger, and ETRO designing sounds for fashion shows and DJing at official Milan Fashion Week events. He’s also guested at Paris Fashion Week, DJing at Silencio, Le Georges and Club Paradisio for official after-parties. Recently he was invited to play in Berlin at Griessmuehle with Slow Motion Record & Oscillator djs after Ivan Smagghe & Leo Young sets. In addition to his work in fashion, Protopapa also serves as a musical consultant for videos and advertising, DJed for Twitter and collaborated with MTV on their new series launch parties. Protopapa has been resident DJ at Le Cannibale, Milan’s premiere underground night for international house and techno guests for two years and artistic director at q|LAB and Club Q21 for four years. Every summer he returns to his roots launching a series of parties in Salento with acclaimed producer Populous. His latest project is FLUIDOSTUDIO, a record label and production company audio / visual that he shares with Pierpaolo “prp” Moschino and of which he is creative director. With FLUIDOSTUDIO he has launched artists such as David Blank, Vergo, Thomas Costantin and the roster is constantly growing. From 2020 to 2023 he has been the creative director of Masseria Wave, a revolutionary cultural project of musical and inclusive tourism, in Salento (South Italy). Spring 2022 saw him blossom in the guise of "Disco Daddy", with the release of his own new single “Ça Va? Je T’Aime!", as a first part of the new disco and italo-disco project who sees him as a protagonist and, for the first time, as a songwriter. In june 2023 he released his 3rd original song "Caramella Caramella" with Dumar and the international disco-house sensation Fiorious.
