playground tactics

playground tactics (pgt) explores the relationship between sound, objects, and movement. Where dance music drives motion, physical objects provide stillness. This project sits between the two. pgt uses DJ sets and spatial curation to explore their tension. Deeply inspired by the sounds of dub, psychedelic rock and hand percussion, pgt fortifies these sounds with the classic machines, textural field recordings, jumping basslines and slippery vocals. On the decks, he sits comfortably at the intersection of acid, minimal, deep house and techno. pgt is co-founder of Locator Records, a label built on acid as method.
