Pineal Navigation
Biografía
Pineal Navigation, a.k.a. Niall Dunne, began DJing and collecting records over 17 years ago at the tender age of sixteen. His first major gig came three years later when he won a DJ competition with Mixmag UK, giving him the opportunity to play at the renowned Dance Valley Festival, Amsterdam where he shared the stage with techno legend’s such as Kevin Saunders, Derek May, and Chris Liebing. Since then, Niall has been DJ'ing in the biggest clubs in Dublin and is a regular feature in some of Ireland's biggest festivals, such as Life Festival, and Electric Picnic. Not satisfied with only expressing himself through Djing, Niall began experimenting with synthesizers and drum machines and began to immerse himself in music production. This process gave birth to the Pineal Navigation moniker which focused on capturing his productions through live jams in one take and keeping the energy of the process intact. Niall sees his style as being a fusion of his upbringing in Dublin and the culture in Ireland together with his many musical influences including Detroit Techno, electro, house, dub and reggae. In 2010 Niall became closely affiliated with Vison Collector, a club night promotion and record label based in Dublin. Over the last 5 years his collaborations with Vision Collector has seen Niall bringing his Pineal Navigation moniker to Djing performances to prominent Berlin clubs such as About Blank, Arena Club and Greissmuhle where he shared line up's with some of techno's most influential artist's such as Dj Pete, Adam X, Charlton, Hard floor. In March 2016 Vision Collector released his first solo record titled “Take Your Self Back” EP which included four tracks of deep tunneling and melodic techno. The last couple of years have seen Niall focus even more intently on his production style and process and with a new split EP on fellow Irish imprint Xerophkz, and another solo release on Vision Collector expected later this year, we can expect to see his artistic output increase over the coming years.
