The label Eumolpe who produced in 2013 the ethno futurist album “Ensemble” from the artist Labelle, praised by the French critics ( Libération, les Inrockuptibles, France Culture, Fip, Nova, Tsugi etc.) is coming back this year with an EP from the pianist PAVANE, mixing poetically classical and electronic music. The inspiration to begin such a project came to Damien Tronchot when he won an InFine remix contest with Rone’s track "Bye Bye Macadam" in 2013. PAVANE mentions Rone but also bands like Bonobo, Four Tet or Boards of Canada as inspiration. However “L’Echappée” is quite unique and PAVANE keeps his singularity by standing at the verge of being a producer of electronic music and a classical pianist. As he re-orchestrate romantic and modern pieces with deep basses and electronic rythmes, PAVANE definitely walks in the footsteps of artists such as Nils Frahm or Olafur Arnalds.
