Growing up in the 70’s on an ‘eclectic’ style of music (rock, soul, pop, disco, reggae...), Paul aka Pappafunk got his first vinyl at the young age of 8 years old. (Young and Company - I like (what you’re doing to me). In the early 80’s, inspired by the Hip Hop scene's culture & lifestyle, he got into breakdancing & started buying more vinyls (Africa Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force - Planet rock / Newcleus - Jam on It). Between 1987-1992, he discovered late night parties, clubbing and began DJing at small private events. In 1997, he started gigs in local London venues where he quickly became a regular fixture of London's nightlife. Between 2001-2005, he got into radio and became a resident DJ on Unknown FM radio along side The DSC crew. Between 2008-2011, Paul hosted a few of gigs in Lyon, France at Planete Disques Radio and 405 Bar. In 2013, he teamed up with Jason Spencer one of the main creator behind 'The Shakedown London’ underground parties in the Canavan’s Bar in Peckham - The resident duo both shared the decks with well know DJs like Jenifa Mayanja, Frankie Valentine, DJ Jus-Ed, Clive Henry, Terry Farley, Honey Dijon, Pat Bedeau, Kid Bachelor and Giles Smith (Secretsundaze & Two Armadillos). In 2017, The Shakedown London parties sadly ended and within just a few weeks later Paul was asked to join the Breakfast Club series by Guy MCcreery from Third Ear Recordings. In 2018, he was asked by Roy Westfield - CEO and Founder of 'Snake & Dagger' to perform at his Fashion Show event, along side WBeeza. More recently, he did a guest mix on 'Snake & Dagger Radio’ along side DJ Marcia Carr - more info www.snakeanddagger.com/blogs/mixes In Sep 2020, he joined Music Box Radio UK - a collective of like minded souls with an unanimous love for music and entertainment broadcasting live from the studio in the heart of London. His radio show Deep Soul Connection airs on Mixcloud Live every 4th Friday 5-7pm UK.
