OYYSTER, born in Mexico City to a Mexican father and Chinese mother, has never been fond of cookie-cutter labels. That's palatable in his energetic club sound, which flows through genres like raggaeton, baile and guaracha to techno and ghetto tech. In 2021, he founded the influential queer party collective Whorechata, which has championed artists who push the boundaries of Latin identity and sound.
