OrKatz is a French female Dj based in Paris. Her passion for electronic music started when she was 15 in Morocco. Music became a love affair that will always stay alive in her heart. OrKatz sees music as a consciousness expander. Sound vibrations being at the origin of the form of living beings, she therefore considers music as one of the most beautiful way to connect, heal, explore and polish all of our senses, bringing the most beautiful feelings in someone’s life : love and joy. She is eternally grateful for what music brings to her life journey and wants to give back all the gifts she received from music, musicians, and dancers all over the years. Several years pass until she finally makes the step in 2020 to switch position and start playing. She creates OrKatz, a musical project in which orca whales are the core essence and vertebral column. She believes in the healing power of cetaceans and ocean sounds and becomes an advocate for orcas and dolphins freedom. Her musical influences are pretty diverse. Being formed in the techno-minimale & psytrance trends of the time, she is guided towards a more organic language like down and dark tempo. In her pharmacopeia of sounds, she likes to bring the auditor into a different world staged by sensations of physical quantum traveling. Slow & fluffy sounds from a dreamy world meet down-pitched dark & dirty vibes, for a deep yet groovy journey. This polarity subtly leads the listener to explore the depths of their being, wavering between shadow and light, through a sensual, emotional, organic and crispy journey.
