Oriki is a scientist by day and DJ by night, seamlessly blending her Nigerian heritage and Manchester roots into an electrifying sound. Her DJ name is a fusion of her first and last name, which serendipitously forms Oríkì: a Yoruba word for praise poetry, celebrating identity, heritage, and personal legacy. This connection to storytelling and rhythm is at the heart of her sets. Growing up in Manchester, she was immersed in underground club culture, where bass-heavy beats and soulful grooves shaped her musical identity. She honed her craft on the airwaves of Steam Radio and now holds a residency at Crop Radio, bringing her signature blend of African-inspired beats, Electro, bass, garage, soulful house, UK funky, and deep techno to new audiences. Previously part of SheWillProvide, an all-Black female DJ collective that championed the representation of Black women in the music scene across Manchester and beyond, ORIKI played a key role in their journey. The collective performed at We Out Here Festival, and ORIKI proudly represented them on the Babylon Uprising Stage at Glastonbury Festival. While SheWillProvide has now come to an end, ORIKI continues to carve her own path, curating sets that are high-energy, percussive-driven, and deeply rooted in rhythm and culture.
