Producing since 2018, he channels a background in Irish percussion and field-recorded, naturally occurring sounds into electronic music, shifting between hypnotic minimalism and textured atmosphere. Guided by an interest of surrealism in sound and expression, Ona Kela treats the dancefloor as a space for altered perception, searching for new ways to create thought and evoke unfamiliar emotions. His approach is genre-fluid at heart: with belief that any music can take on that transformative charge when sequenced with intent and placed in the right context. After some years running nights across Galway and Dublin, he has since embedded himself in London’s music scene. Ona Kela debuted in Luzern, Switzerland in November, shortly followed by his first London appearance under the alias, with a debut EP scheduled for 2026.
