Omri Smadar
Biografía
Composing and connecting, playing and performing, studying and story-telling… Omri Smadar’s life in music is complete, unapologetic, immersion.
From deep history to complex theory to the dark art of dot joining,
this classically and academically trained composer and pianist from Tel Aviv is neck deep in all aspects of the culture and artform.
It’s been this way since his first release in 2018. Working with esteemed labels such as Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant, Tel Aviv's Blue Shadow and Lyon's psychedelic Hard Fist imprints, Omri’s creations range from star-gazing, critic-acclaimed originals such as his ‘Fragile’ EP [Correspondant 2020], to collaborating with some of his country’s most respected, longstanding musicians like Siam and Fortis, and to extensive remixes, edits and remoulds of influential Israeli music, such as debut album ‘Collage’ [Nana Disc 2020]
Fusing organic, synthetic and analog, Omri’s dynamic explorations comprise all his musical passions and pastimes; Cosmic Disco, Psychedelic, Indie dance, Synth Wave, Obscure Arabic music and African music are just some of the ingredients in his melting pot… And the very same can be said for his full voyage DJ sets, too. Experiences where even more connections are made, more dots are joined and more stories are told.
