NUMPAD is a Berlin based electronic live improvisation project founded by Julian S. and Sebastian W. back in 2014. From initially mixing DJ sets with live arrangements of their own productions, they started to evolve into a completely improvised live act in the beginning of 2018. Due to this approach their music can hardly be narrowed down to just one genre, but instead it opens up the possibility to adapt to the current prevailing mood and thus to interact with the crowd profoundly. Between squelching acid basslines and trenchant percussion movements, the listener is always invited to a vivid sound experience shaped by atmospheric synth lines, wide soundscapes and complex rhythmic structures. In 2019 they cofounded the SONIC GROUND collective with other talented musicians to create a platform for (improvised) electronic live music.
