Noya (IL)
Biografía
Watching NOYA DJ live is like watching a fireworks display in action. Her selections are
as invigorating as her energy and her ability to connect is magnetic. It’s like going on a
wild, kaleidoscopic ride through the sounds of electronica, house and acid.
NOYA only started DJing in 2018, however her passion and talent soon sky-rocketed her
to the forefront of Tel Aviv’s underground. Now she’s played at some of the country’s
most prestigious venues and festivals including DGTL and Port2Port.
NOYA’s musical journey began long before she started slaying the decks. Her older
brother introduced her to Tiësto, Armin van Buuren and Offer Nissim when she was just
10 years old, and she was instantly hooked. When she was 16 she saw Offer Nissim
play in Tel Aviv, and from that moment on she was obsessed with house music. She
moved to Tel Aviv in 2016 to fully immerse herself in the sounds and scenes of the city,
and when she saw women DJing for the first time, the seed of ambition was planted. Not
long after that, she bought CDJs and taught herself how to DJ.
Because she’d been listening to music since she was 10, her music taste was already
fully formed and it wasn’t long before her selection and mixing skills caught up. NOYA
spent the best part of 2018 perfecting her abilities, and then landed her first gig at The
Forum in Beer Sheba, one of the largest venues in Israel with a capacity of 4400. She
was thrown in the deep end, but got into the groove right away and by the time she
finished she felt so at home behind the decks it was like she’d been put on this planet to
be there.
NOYA blends disco, acid house and electronica to create a unique sound, and that will
soon extend to her productions, too. The artist didn’t let COVID slow her down, and
instead released a steady stream of mixes and worked on her own music. NOYA will be
releasing her debut EP in 2023, with music that spans the full spectrum of the human
experience and acts as an aural representation of the artist’s buoyancy, energy and
vibrancy. She’s already tested a few tracks out on the dance floor, and the reaction was
volcanic. In 2023 she’ll be taking this energy on tour to Europe, Central and South
America.
‘Refreshing’ is a word that’s often used to sum up NOYA. Her bright, optimistic
personality and fun, contagious music selection alongside her unparalleled dance skills
make her a favorite amongst bookers - and her ambition is limitless. She hopes to tour
the world, have her own stage at major festivals and connect with people from all across
the globe. And judging by the passion and talent, that dream doesn't seem very far off.
