NGL Flounce is a French and Malagasy DJ and producer, co-founder of the Transpacific Express and Open Enclave music collectives based in Montreal, Canada. NGL Flounce began their music journey playing violin recitals and singing with their mom in local African restaurants. Today, they light up dance floors in Montreal with an open ended selection featuring deconstructed club, grime, jersey, footwork, and various global genres with a focus on “afro-electronic.” They nurture their soft spot for Asian and Western hip hop, r&b, and disco through Transpacific Express. NGL Flounce attributes their love for club music to the emotional release it provides, so their sets earnestly tell stories they dub “club cry.” As a producer, their music reflects their eclectic taste as they explore dreamy, spiritual synths, UK electronic elements, and Pan-African inspired drums and rhythms. image credit @veraxoh
