The members of the duo are united in their will to blend different music genres, including Italo disco, 80’s electronic music, the devastating techno of the underground era and the deeply melodic techno of today. The two artists met shortly before the first confinement measures in France due to the pandemic. The encounter ended up turning their lives upside down, more than the appearance of COVID-19 ever did. A phenomenon that materialized itself as the foundations for Neowise during their first studio session in summer 2020. The result is a real desire to gather music lovers of all kinds and make them want to dance. Neowise know how to juggle Julien Cloud’s punchy rock-inspired beats, and colorful retro synthesizers, with Vaalha’s powerful and driving techno. Some of their influences include artists such as Technobeton, Pablo Bozzi, Franz Scala, Kendal, Marlon Hoffstadt, I Hate Models, Kraftwerk, and Arnaud Rebotini. You will often find them using equipment such as TR707’s, Juno 106’s, a Prophet, or a Jupiter, for a retro and sci-fi atmosphere. Having totally isolated themselves in the countryside in July 2020, their first EP is born from the newly discovered chemistry between the two artists.
