NEKKETTO
Biografía
Nekketto, born in Naples in 1988, took his first steps into music through the psychedelic soundscapes of Pink Floyd and the elegant darkness of Joy Division, New Order and The Cure. From an early age, he developed a distinctive musical taste where rock, post-punk and electronic music naturally came together.
As he grew older, he discovered funk, soul, jazz and hip hop, eventually finding his way to disco and, inevitably, house music. It was then that he developed a deep passion for rhythm and the culture of DJing.
Nekketto's musical background reaches far beyond club culture. His encounter with house music became the defining spark that changed everything. By chance, through his older brothers, he was introduced to the productions of Masters At Work, while Daft Punk's Around the World, with its hypnotic groove and the revolutionary energy of the French Touch movement, opened an entirely new sonic universe. Then came Jamiroquai, and it was love at first listen. The artist's unmistakable funk sound, together with the remixes of legendary DJs and producers such as David Morales, Danny Tenaglia and Roger Sanchez, inspired a lifelong journey into music that blends the warmth of percussion, funk, soul and the depth of authentic house music, forever changing the way he experiences sound.
From that moment on, groove became a constant pursuit, fuelled by the clubs he frequented during those years and by an endless exploration of underground music. House, soulful influences, deep grooves and eclectic musical contaminations merge into an authentic sound, created for those who see the dancefloor as a place of culture, connection and freedom of expression.
For Nekketto, being a DJ is not simply about playing records; it is about telling a story through music, respecting its roots and allowing the groove to speak for itself.
A compulsive vinyl collector, he considers every record a cultural artefact and a living testimony to the history of music. Every purchase is a discovery, every label tells a story, and every groove preserves an identity and a memory.
For Nekketto, a DJ is not merely an entertainer, but a music researcher and storyteller who, through vinyl, restores value to time, deep listening and authentic club culture.
Today, Nekketto brings his musical vision to life as a resident DJ for Sottosuono, a Milan-based collective dedicated to promoting an authentic club culture driven by musical research. At the same time, he is also a resident at Umoya, a project deeply rooted in his home territory, where he contributes to the growth of the local scene through exclusively vinyl DJ sets and a selection that remains consistently true to his underground identity.
