Nanzhen Yang is a Chinese-born London based DJ, digital artist. As being DJ- Nanzhen’s music dose not hinge on one genre, all tracks curated in her set based on the ideas of storytelling and metaphors - also the spoken-words which could refer to a specific movement or time. With the background as a master graduate on fine art, she still putting her research skill to use, finding the connections and teasing out narrative between tracks, then placing those music carefully in context and sharing it to the listeners in dance floors. nanzhen’s music taste growing up at the London underground queer rave scenes and combining with her experience moving from Beijing to London - from here, her music became diverse and borderless. As being digital artist - Nanzhen’s digital art practise working with moving-images and video-installations. Her works aim to discuss the relationship between architecture and memory - whilst exploring how the space working as a container of a specific moment , memory and humanity under the anthropology context. As the combination - When nanzhen doing her dj live streaming, she firstly hanging the green screen on - then throwing herself into her pre-built virtual environment . DJ’s performance, music and the digital space formed her live streaming - as seems as a multiple-dimensional live recording or just the fantasy of an unreal time and space.She is still trying to explore a more smoothie and coherent way to combine her visual and audio practise together - emotionally as well as physically.
