MzRizk's many projects are a distinct blend of music knowledge, creative diversity and cultural and community engagement. As one of Melbourne’s busiest DJs, MzRizk has supported Australian acts such as Remi and Hiatus Kaiyote; as well as international artists that include DJ Jazzy Jeff, Rahaan, Rich Medina, John Morales, Badbadnotgood, Yasiin Bey - previously known as Mos Def, Public Enemy, Jill Scott, Snarky Puppy, The Daptones, MF Doom, The Internet, Bilal, Cody Chestnut, Maseo (De La Soul), Common, Talib Kweli, Jurassic 5, Maxwell and Alsarah & The Nubatones. MzRizk has performed at Womadelaide (with Neneh Cherry jumping on the mic as impromptu MC), AWME, Groovin' The Moo nationally, Big Day Out, Sugar Mountain Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, Perth Fringe Festival, Darwin Festival and numerous other events nationally. Internationally, MzRizk has performed DJ sets at Radio Beirut in Beirut, Soul In The Horn, Mobile Mondays and Yallah! in New York as well as Glastonbury Festival in the UK, Woo Hah Hip Hop Festival in Tilburg and Soundwave (Croatia). In 2017, MzRizk DJ'd for Sampa the Great at Women of the World Festival and for the Red Bull Sound Select at Splendour In The Grass. MzRizk received rave reviews for her set at Golden Plains in 2018 and continues to perform at various festivals and events all over the world. Closer to home, as the curator of the extremely successful Rizky's Block Party, Hip Hop High Tea and Gallery series. In 2014, even the modern-day King of Block Parties, Dave Chappelle, stopped into a MzRizk Block Party when he was in Melbourne... MzRizk has also curated events and programs for Melbourne Music Week, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum and City of Melbourne. MzRizk collaborated with the Immigration Musuem in 2018 and curated Gibran's Garden that celebrated the work of Kahlil Gibran. This event included live poetry readings, Arabic music, food and tea. The exhibition itself was soundtracked by MzRizk, who created a soundscape that was influenced by Kahlil Gibran's work. In 2020, MzRizk will be 1 of 98 artists showcasing work at the Biennale of Sydney. With the opportunity to bring together Melbourne’s music-loving communities through DJ slots, workshops, venue residencies, festivals, artist support and special events, MzRizk always delivers the hip hop, jazz, soul, funk, disco, Arabic and global music goodness. She continues to play a pivotal role in connecting music-loving folks across Australia and abroad.
