Finding house and techno in 1999 at the age of 13, MVN7IS was drawn early to the more minimal and hypnotic edges of electronic music. Early exposure to artists such as Richie Hawtin, Mark Farina, and Ion Ludwig shaped a deep appreciation for restraint, tension, and negative space at a formative age. Equally influential were the full-moon desert gatherings of Moontribe, where long-form, uncompromising techno in open landscapes became the catalyst for stepping behind the decks. Those experiences instilled a respect for pacing, atmosphere, and intention, and for dance floors built on depth rather than spectacle. While techno provided a structural foundation, house music has always remained a constant thread. Over time, darker and more minimal expressions of house emerged as a natural convergence, carrying groove and warmth through a stripped, hypnotic lens informed by early microhouse and minimal traditions. With over two decades immersed in underground culture, MVN7IS later founded High Society as a platform to share that lived experience with a new generation. The project focuses on thoughtful curation, broader musical horizons, and sophisticated environments, while remaining grounded in the grassroots values that define underground dance culture. Rooted in humility and guided by nuance, MVN7IS approaches both sound and space with intention, favoring continuity over trends and depth over excess. Her work reflects a long-term commitment to the craft, shaped by history, place, and an enduring respect for the dance floor.
