Mui Mui

Brooklyn based DJ, dancer, and visual designer, Mui Mui (Cantonese for “Little sister”), has been shaped by not only electronic artists she has revered since her adolescence- Aphex Twin, Autechre, Burial, and Moderat, to name a few, but also by both her background as a trained dancer and the 80s Italo/New Wave her parents raised her on. She hosts a biweekly show at Newtown Radio, "Nave Gaze Radio", where she consistently experiments with a wide range of genres, using the show as a space for introspection and self reflection, as the name suggests. Her experiences as a movement artist, a navel gazer, a yogi, and a long time electronic music lover have culminated in a balanced sensibility towards DJing. Her sets often oscillate between club-ready, danceable tracks and a carefully chosen selection of heady, thought provoking tracks- one thing is for certain, Mui Mui will always welcome you into her sanctuary of dance.
