Momus
Biografía
FYI, Momus or Momos was in Greek mythology the god of satire, mockery, censure, writers, poets; a spirit of evil-spirited blame and unfair criticism. He is depicted in classical art as lifting a mask from his face.
Momus is also and foremost a Parisian electronic music lover, who at the age of 16 started to actively collect house records and regularly DJ in Paris, forging himself a music style falling somewhere between house and techno.
Moving to New York in 2009, Momus pursued a sound engineer program to further develop his electronic music knowledge and skills. Being a part of the local underground scene, Momus continuously learns and improves his DJ sets and productions, leading him to play for the biggest underground techno promoters in NYC, Blk Market.
Simultaneously, Momus implements his business skills throughout his day time job at Universal Music Group. In charge of the Electronic Dance Music genre development, he aims to popularize and enlarge the awareness of what shouldn't be just an underground movement in the US.
Whenever he takes over the decks, Momus spins warm and groovy housish beats, ranging from deep to jacking or dub, with the simple aim to get the best moves out of his audience; no mental masturbation here.
With original productions just around the corner, you can expect to be hearing a lot more from Momus in the years to come...
