Awarded as Colombia's Best Electronic Act, MITÚ is a “Psychedelic Techno From The Jungle" live act duo formed by Julián Salazar on synths and machines and percussionist Franklin Tejedor. Tejedor, hails from a lineage of percussionists in the town of San Basilio de Palenque, the first free town of the Americas, a cultural land classified by UNESCO as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Salazar, was the lead guitarist with Bomba Estéreo for 10 years, and is a respected producer and songwriter. Throughout their career, MITÚ have performed all over Latin America, Europe and the US, highlighting important festivals such as Amsterdam Dance Event -ADE-, BIME Bilbao, Lollapalooza Chile, Lollapalooza Argentina, NRMAL Mexico, MaMA Paris, Sommarscen Malmö, Transmusicales Rennes, Sónar Bogotá, Womad UK and Gather Festival Stockholm, among others. In 2017, MITÚ launched the album “Cosmus", which was the #1 Colombian Album of the Year according to Shock Magazine, and was reviewed in presitgious international media as Rolling Stone, Remezcla, Noisey, Gaffa and NPR, just to name a few. In support of “Cosmus”, MITÚ toured all over 12 countries, 30 cities and 16 music festivals. In 2018, MITÚ released their 4th LP “Los Ángeles”, and has toured around festivals and headline shows in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, the US, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and France, and was chosen as support for New Order at their only UK show in the year at Alexandra Palace. Between 2017 and 2018, MITÚ has performed in 22 countries and almost 40 cities.
