Mira Fahrenheit (Mira F °) A life-long music appreciator currently based in Chicago, Mira honed her skills in New York and Detroit, at clubs such as Good Room, Black Flamingo, House Of Yes, and Marble Bar, playing alongside talents as varied as James Murphy, Moodymann, JD Samson, Hot Chip, Juan Maclean, Mike "Agent X" Clark, and Greg Wilson. Mira has held residencies at House Of Yes (NYC) and Where Are My Keys? (Detroit), and has become a familiar name on lineups at Smartbar in Chicago.  In 2020, Mira served as lead coordinator and executive producer for the first ever global B2B, which took place over Earth Week as part of her involvement with the New York and Paris-based non-profit DJs For Climate Action (DJs4CA). The event was masterminded as a dramatic pivot from in-person events originally planned for the week to bring awareness to climate change and, in a time of tremendous fear and isolation, yielded a singular moment of genuine togetherness within the electronic music and nightlife community, bringing together over 100 participating artists and many more tuning in from around the world. In recent years, Mira has supported various electronic music labels (Vault Wax, Music and Power, TSoNYC, Afro Acid) as a copywriter and editor, and continues to contribute to DJs4CA in these capacities. A certified professional coach, Mira facilitated the group's visioning process around their values and co-authored the "4Cs" that now define the grounding principles behind DJs4CA's work. ARTIST STATEMENT Given the tumult of the past several years, the ongoing pandemic, the continued rise of fascism and socioeconomic division, and having landed too far from too many loved ones a shocking 4 years ago this month, both the sharing of- and the sharing in music are gifts I’ll never again take for granted.   Weaving tracks I just plain adore with others I’m moved to introduce for their more subtle flavors and textures, my style is a reflection of my search for an exact sense of home - a place that's cozy and complex, challenging and intimate. It's no secret that we - our collective humanity - are starving for meaningful connection. Hugs, laughter, eye contact, music...even squeezier hugs, even more contagious laughter that makes us pee our pants even harder, eye contact of mutual recognition and appreciation, and even more music that tantalizes our souls. As a cis, straight, white-bodied, Jewish woman, it's a profound privilege and honor for my life and the work I do presenting music to register even a blip on the radar to that end. I'm also massively grateful to know that I'm far from being the boldest or brightest out here. Free Palestine, free Congo, free Sudan, free us all.
