Mingote was born in the small Portuguese city of Covilhã but has always had his ears tuned to the world. Involved with music from an early age, this young artist today dedicates himself to the evolution and growth of electronic music in his city. Through the local artists' collective Club Culture, and his residency at Companhia Club, Mingote has been ceaselessly (and effectively) gathering an audience and creating a movement in a place where dance music is practically non-existent. Co-founder of the Ovelha Trax label, his own work released on the label mainly falls under breakbeat or Detroit-style electro, but he’ll also sprinkle his sets with plenty of acid and techno. In his sets, he values authenticity over perfection and gives preference to musical versatility and cross-genre mixing, including techno, acid, breakbeat and electro.
