DJ Mermaid is a Hawai'i radio savant with a decade of broadcast experience. She's host of Hawaiʻi Kulāiwi on HPR-1, a weekly show that takes a deep dive into the composers, artists, moʻolelo, and the history of Hawaiian music. Emerging from the waters of Waialua every so often, you can find her playing late night dance parties in and around O‘ahu island.
