Adrian Carrel discovered electronic music fifteen years ago, a defining encounter in his isolated mountain hometown, where this soundscape simply did not exist. At the time, he approached it with the naive enthusiasm of adolescence. This first impulse, still raw and unrefined, became the starting point of a deeper and lasting exploration of sound. Over time, his need for nuance grew stronger. He moved away from formulaic structures to develop a more personal language, one that could embrace ambiguity, texture, and silence. A decisive shift came through his involvement with the Otium collective, where artistic exchange, experimentation, and collaboration helped refine both his practice and his perspective. His work gradually evolved into a dialogue between inner states, intimacy, psychology, and precise sound design, blending glitches, enveloping low-end, and deep atmospheres. These explorations take shape in his musical project Mentome Moir, an industrial and romantic extension of a sonic journal. Alongside his personal work, he collaborates regularly with filmmakers and visual artists, composing sound pieces that support, question, or subtly shift the narratives they accompany. Through Otium, he also developed a strong engagement with transmission, leading workshops, residencies, and masterclasses designed as accessible yet demanding spaces for creative exploration. His first EP, Haze, explores a raw and honest search for self, at the intersection of personal and musical transformation. It was followed by Afterburn, which extends this trajectory by capturing the emotional residues of change, when intensity becomes routine. His upcoming EP, Blueprint, set to be released on Bedroom Research, takes a more fragmented and instinctive approach. Built from raw sonic material blending industrial influences, traces of hip-hop, and dreamlike soundscapes, it explores the duality of a mind both confident and shaped by doubt.
