Melissa Juice is a resident DJ and co-organiser at Missfitte, a collective hosting care-focused, queer-forward underground events with women and non-binary folks at the core. She is also the co-host of Double Double on Radio Vacarme (alongside fellow DJ Spirite), a radio show that promotes women and queer DJs in Canada and Belgium. Beyond the decks, Mel is equally invested in the fiercely political roots of rave. Through collaboration with local organizations, care teams and community members, she aims to create spaces that offer knowledge and resources related to substance use, consent and discrimination. It is in these spaces that celebration can become a radical protest against structural shame and oppression.
