Biografía

A true performer is one who possesses versatility, the ability to adapt and merge diverse styles to create a sound that is uniquely their own. Mel Hammond has displayed this on the turntables in Paris, France, Osaka, Japan and whilst touring the U.S. as the deejay for the well - known and established band Poi Dog Pondering. He has performed at virtually every nightclub in the Chicago area, as well as countless underground parties, including the infamous "Motioness", the only event to ever take place on a moving train. Most recently Mel, along with Michael Serafini, launched “Waxed”, the most successful and only “open–alternative” night at one of Chicago’s oldest nightclubs, NEO. This night has seen record numbers and guest deejays like the world-renowned Traxx and house pioneer Ralphie Rosario. In the studio, Mel has achieved similar success. Hammond’s solo production work includes marrying a variety of obscure samples, engineering tricks and live, as well as electronic drum programming. He delivers a unique brand of “Electro- Funk” that thrills and ignites his fans. For over twenty years Mel has been exploring music production and turntablism in order to produce his well-manicured rhythmic harmony and sound. Globally D.J.
