Max Ctrl is a predominantly Techno and House-focused DJ based in the North West of England. He has been a regular face of the North West’s underground rave scene since his introduction to it in his teens. In recent years he has begun to hone his craft and develop his own individual style of DJing, which can now be described as raw, rough and ready, upbeat mixing packed with flavour. He tries to distance himself from the story-telling, journey-esque mixing that has become so prominent in recent years, instead focusing on keeping his sets enigmatic and dynamic. Max draws key influence from the 1st and 2nd generations of Detroit & Chicago artists, as well as many European artists who emerged over the mid to late 90s. Although being principally focused on Techno and House, Max’s library freely spans a depth of genres, with it also playing host to quantities of UKG and Jungle, to name but a couple.
