Biografía
Montreal, Canada
Louise Gauvreau a.k.a Maus was raised by Jazz and Disco music-freaks. She is the queen of mashed potatoes and once dreamed to be Barry White's wife. For the past 13 years, she’s also been intensively involved in Montreal’s electronic music scene whether as a DJ or an event organizer. In 2005, she started to dedicate most of her time learning music production. Today, after a few music collaborations and a remix for legendary cold- wave band Trisomie 21 (Chromo Music, FR) she has a few original tracks signed on Canadian label, Thoughtless Music including her first EP, About Time.
Maus held residencies at Montreal' best clubs and after hours such as SONA, ARIA, UN, Unity, Salon Daome and has is currently a monthly resident at infamous Stereo Nightclub. She plays her sound internationally since 2000 which is also the year Haute-Coutue Records released Intersections, her debut mixed CD which was acclaimed world wide and put her name in URB magazine's NEXT 100 list before she took off for her first European tour including Barcelona's SONAR festival.
On the local scene, Maus is responsible for many electronic events and club weeklies. From 2006 to 2009 she co-headed Microzoo Productions alongside Nathan Burns, producing events including Salon Daome’s Tuesday nights where she was also a resident DJ. Microzoo offered Montreal memorable parties featuring guests such as Nick Curly, MyMy, Jeremy P. Caulfield, Berkson & What, My My, Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts, 3 Channels and Pig & Dan. Microzoo is now one of Montreal's label to look up for.
