Matteo Baima is a young Swiss DJ who’s been making waves since 2021. A lifelong music enthusiast, Matteo has explored various genres, including reggae and hiphop. It was in 2019, during a semester at an American university, that he really dove into electronic music. The experience was transformative, and upon returning to Switzerland, Matteo bought his first DJ setup, eager to catch up on lost time. In 2022, Matteo joined Fantastic Friends Recordings, a globally renowned minimal music label based in Lausanne. His dedication and persistence paid off, and he quickly became a key part of the team as both a DJ and events manager. By 2023, Matteo was performing at some of the top clubs in Switzerland and abroad, building his reputation by sharing the stage with artists who inspire him, such as Mihai Popoviciu, Silat Beksi, Christian Burkhardt, Octave, and Primarie. Matteo’s musical style oscillates between house and minimal. His sound is continually evolving and becoming more refined. Through his distinctive sets, Matteo channels his personal journey and experiences, translating them into music. He has a particular fondness for thick, rhythmic basslines combined with deep or dub melodies, adding a touch of brightness to solid underground beats.
