Matcha has quickly established herself as a rising star in the DJ scene in Belfast since her debut club performance early last year. With multiple bookings every month and no signs of slowing down, her 2025 is already shaping up to be another stellar year. Matcha has graced the decks of some of Belfast’s most prestigious promoters, including a headline set at a sold-out event hosted by the renowned Ponyhawke. In addition, Matcha has played for a number of well-regarded, long-established promoters in the city, such as Plain Sailing, Danse Intermission, Haze, and On the Fence, among others. Along the way she has had the opportunity to support talented artists such as Holly Lester, Aika Mal, and Cartin. Inspired by artists such as Peach, Aldonna, Shanti Celeste, and Angel d’lite, Matcha’s sound is both focused and meticulously crafted, having described it herself as “alien and critter coded”. Blending elements of prog techno, spaced out house, and deep Italo influences Matcha has been forming an exciting sound that’s been captivating audiences.
