Masha Iva
Biografía
Born in 1985 in Kazakhstan, Masha Iva from Mannheim (Germany) is an art historian, communications expert, and cultural professional working with museums and archives. She has been immersed in music since she learned to walk—first through ballet, then with instruments, and later as a devoted attendee of live concerts, primarily punk, new/dark wave, ebm, hardcore punk and stoner rock.
Electronic music, soundscapes, clubs, and festivals captured her attention starting in 2017. In 2021, her brother Igor, a producer and composer, taught her the skills behind the DJ decks. What began as a technical curiosity quickly evolved into ongoing performances, processing and transforming her collected musical experiences.
Since 2023/24, she has been performing publicly, developing a distinctive sound. She describes her style as “raw, non-conformist, sometimes unsettling, sometimes tender, provocative, progressive.” Her sets are infused with acid-loving dramaturgy and dynamic progression.
Having already made her mark at cultural events around Mannheim, she’s now ready to take the leap into the club circuit. 2025 she celebrated her club debut at ZIMMER as a Newcomer. Three months later she got her own series of events.
Since 2026, she has been the third member of the Later Crew (Mannheim/Heilbronn), which also includes Luis Wosnitza and Chris Wo.
Since January 2026, she has performed regularly in Mainz at the Dorett Bar and the beben club. She also co-hosts the party series ECHOES OF DISCO with Chris Wo at ZIMMER.
