Mark Radion
Biografía
Born in Kazakhstan and raised in Germany, Mark Radion began his creative journey in 2014 with a degree in Graphic Design in Bielefeld. Since then, he has established himself as a multidisciplinary artist specializing in graphic design, 3D modeling, and illustration. These visual disciplines seamlessly integrate into his musical projects, shaping his artistic identity.
Musically, Mark Radion draws inspiration from the energetic and intense soundscapes of 2000s action film soundtracks, with influences such as BT and New Order’s iconic “Confusion” from the film Blade. His sets are characterized by their hypnotic, uplifting energy, often weaving together psychedelic trance, hypnotic grooves, and surprises from genres like Italo disco and New Wave. Labels such as Oslo’s Ute.Rec and London’s Goddez are frequently featured in his mixes, offering a foundation of driving, psychedelic rhythms that are balanced by unexpected breaks and moments of tension within the 140BPM range.
Mark Radion’s journey began in the underground scene, where he honed his craft playing at small, intimate parties. In 2020, he launched his own event series, Chirurgie Cherrie, which brought a fresh pulse to Bielefeld’s nightlife. Collaborating closely with his long-time friend and creative companion Michael Schulik aka Space Bum / Crystal Mike, the two crafted immersive experiences, combining Schulik’s meticulously synthesized drum sounds and acid-infused synthesizers with their shared love of visual storytelling. Reviving old CRT and TFT monitors, they created a distinctive audiovisual experience that bridges eras and technologies.
