Mariiza’s sound is polyrhythmic and eclectic but fundamentally universal as she draws inspiration from a range of contemporary cosmopolitan sources and music history alike. Breaking free from genre-focused sets and mastering the art of sonic storytelling, Mariiza continues to push boundaries and to promote eclecticism in House music. She takes you on a journey through House, Acid, Techno, Nu-Disco and everything in between. Funky bass lines, percussive elements, claps and euphoric vocals are characteristic for her sets, staying true to her motto: „House music is more fun when it’s a little bit naughty!“ Performing as a supporting act for Eli Fola in Tulum in 2021 paved the way for playing b2b with Ghedi for RISE Berlin the same year before establishing herself fully in 2022 and refining her sound through festival performances and headliner shows across Kenya, Pakistan and Germany alike, while playing alongside artists such as Melé, Desiree, KEENE and Kid Fonque. Fast forward to 2023 and Mariiza has taken over DJ booths in some of Berlin’s most notorious clubs that particularly shaped her sound, with Renate Berlin being one of them, and she is set to have her debut at about.blank amongst other exciting opportunities.
