Born and raised in New York City to Dominican immigrants, Nix was introduced to music of all cultures at a very young age. From singing in choir in elementary school, being part of a jazz ensemble at Lincoln Center in middle school, and a variety of bands throughout high school, music is all they've known as music has surrounded them during turbulent times in their lives. It wasn't until post-grad, where Nix didn't have a creative outlet to express themselves. Once they picked up their first set of decks... that's when they knew... a monster was born. MANGUMAMI, who Nix has often described as "the voice in my head" and "the Hyde to my Jekyll" is a imp-like demon whose goal is to leave you addicted for more. With infectious rhythms of all genres blending into various melodies, MANGUMAMI captures audiences' ears and body like a siren and doesn't release them until they're done.
