Mamacita (Carolina Paz) is currently Southamericas prime underground diva. In addition, she is the best representative of the strong local Santiago house scene which has recently gained international attention for it’s unique take on the genre. One important explanatory factor of the successes and vitality of this particular scene is its remote location.Long distances and isolation from established cultural metropoles have contributed in fostering the endemic and norm breaking sound of Chiles young generation. Her active influence on Santiagos contemporary music scene- supported through many live performances and releases- makes her the indisputable leader within her genre. Listening to her music takes you to a Queendom of musicians - a parallel universe inhabited by similar soul sisters like Liz Torres, Paris Grey or Aerea Negrot. Mamacita starts in 2010 with her first live performance for the Fonda Michael Jackson party and as a chorus girl For Javiera Mena. Since then she’s been playing in Chile, Argentina, Mexico, London, Cologne, Stockholm, Glasgow, Belgrade and Barcelona with many Chilean and other intarnational artists : Diegors, Djs Pareja, Dj Xtralarge, Ana Helder, Andrea Paz, Cristian Alejandro Ramirez, Roman, Makaroni, Maluca, Cholita Sound, Matias Aguayo, Thris Tian, Dani Nihjensohn, Oddy, Dadalú, Fredi Michel, Quierostar, Carisma, Fakuta, Auntie Flo, Ken Ishii, etc... She’s currently working on her Mamacita solo Project and she’s also featuring tracks with other artists from all around the globe.
