I’ve been DJ-ing for 30 plus years…. I had my first encounter with proper DJ-ing at a young age, sharing the decks with the likes of Rat Pack, Ellis Dee, Top Buzz and Seduction in the early 90’s at Insomnia, UK. I ran my own night called “SOULFOOD” very eclectic (Funk/Soul/Hip-Hop/Jazz/House etc). From playing Ibiza in 1995 at Disco Point, to up and down the UK spreading funky vibes…… In 2013 “MAGNIFIQUE” was born! This lead me to promote a series of nights under the same name with the likes of Mr.B The Gentleman Rhymer, Jim & Zed (Eclectic Ballroom), DJ Cutmastersmart & B-Mize. 2013 was a great year for me as this was the start of my residency at THE BIG CHILL HOUSE/BAR (Kings Cross/Brick Lane in London UK). I also started my mixtape series WEIRDDISCO on Mixcloud which is still ongoing… In 2015 I moved to Australia with wife & kids….. I found myself doing a fortnightly slot at Mooshka (Sunshine Beach) This was playing down-tempo stuff incl Funk/Soul/Jazz/Rare disco etc. A local gym wanted a regular yoga mix from me aswell. In 2017 I started to up my game a bit and started to produce a better standard of work with some original/edits/remixes which in turn caught the eye of two dudes in Amsterdam (SHMLSS) who run a label called XXX. I was over the moon when they wanted to release my edit of Smallage’s italo-house piano classic ‘Together’ !!! Which was released mid Feb 2018 on a 12″ vinyl record & sold out within 3 weeks (I couldn’t believe it). The track was praised by Phonica Records (London) and played by the likes of Jacques Renault, DJ Rocca, Stijn Sadée, Mark Hume (DJ Mag/SoHo Radio/Cadillac Soundsystem) & many more. In 2020 (Yes the dreaded 2020) I released a digital track called “Who’s Barry” on an Aussie label called Disco Fiasco Records across all platforms. More recently I was invited by DJ Graham Dunn to play at Saturday Socials on the Gold Coast, soon after that I was asked to play at The Full Moon Dance here on the Sunshine Coast alongside Dub Zoo, The Strides etc.
