New York via Virginia producer M. Vaughan has spent the better part of a decade releasing emotional house music. Growing up playing in indie rock bands, Vaughan’s take on modern dance music is proudly melancholic—a bit tongue in cheek and a bit vulnerable. Inspired by everything from Nils Frahm to Cocteau Twins to Shed, the east coast producer has a distinct love of melody, warped textures, and raw energy. With only a few tracks to his name, his productions have garnered early support from artists like Jacques Renault, Laurent Garnier, Palms Trax, Kornel Kovacs, and Axel Boman. He is also the founder of Super Tuff Records; a vinyl/digital outlet that’s been releasing tender dance music since 2016. Past Super Tuff releases include Vaughan himself as well as international upstarts Niles Cooper, Marcel Lune, Tilman, XXXY, DJ Aakmael, and Black Loops.
