LORD ASA is a non-binary, queer, Vietnamese-American DJ that thrives in a techno environment. their background as a pianist, music industry exec, and music curator serve as the foundation for their selections. Brooklyn-grown and Oklahoma-born, the dance floors and community of NYC’s queer underground have shaped them and raised them in their artistry. in their dynamic mixing they pull in influences from hardcore, trance, hypnotic, acid, and an occasional nod to pop culture bangers and other genre selects to weave multi-layered stories informed by their intersectional identity and lifestyle. they have played in NYC, Berlin, and Tokyo at venues such as Bossa Nova Civic Club, Chaos Computer, Mood Ring, Brooklyn Monarch, Elsewhere, Koiwa Bushbash, Spread, Bacon, and a few warehouse(s) in Brooklyn; cofounded Wish Records and curated a year long residency on The Lot Radio featuring exclusively FLINTA* soundartists in techno; and have released mixes through NTS, HÖR, The Lot Radio, FIST, Rave Reparations, XPIZZA, Regression Records, Bleak, and OBST Tokyo.
