Lonny Joco
Biografía
From casual listening sessions between two friends,
LonnyJoco grew into a passionate project fueled by
their shared love for music.
Starting with collecting records, they soon gave
mixing a try. Today, while dinner is in the oven
and glasses of wine, they stay true to their roots,
mixing on vinyl only.
Inspired by jazz and influenced by DJs like Theo
Parrish, Danilo Plessow (MCDE), Antal, and Ron
Trent, their goal is to mix things up, showing that
there's more than just one genre in a set.
With the aim of bringing storytelling and
distinction back to DJing, rather than just playing
4/4 house music for 45 minutes, they always looking
out for tracks that make you pull a stank face or
feel warm inside when the needle hits the wax.
With less than a year of experience in DJ-ing,
they want to use that lack of knowledge as a
strength. By giving the crowd a feeling of
connection and accessibility, that they own the
music just as much as LonnyJoco does. That at the
end of the day, they are just two guys who share
their love for music.
They are also now part of the Mulatu Listening Bar
team and founders of ALMA RHYTHM— two initiatives that
focus on everything that matters; passion for vinyl,
connection, culture, and soul.
Ultimately, all the two cats care about is the
Funk, the Groove, and if there are 20 people in
the crowd or 200... their goal is to focus on the
music, hoping each individual will focus on their
feet and hips, and nothing more.
